Iki Barley Shochu is made on Iki Island, the birthplace of barley shochu, using a ratio of two-thirds barley and one-third rice malt that has been passed down for 500 years.
Using traditional process distillation, the aromatic fragrance of barley is brought out, and the rich flavor of the original liquor, combined with the smoothness achieved through over 10 years of aging, evokes the 500-year-old tradition.
The label design is inspired by “Iki Kagura,” a traditional performing art with a history of approximately 700 years, designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property by the national government.
