An innovative whisky unlike any before, CHIVAS REGAL TAKUMI RESERVE features a portion of the blend finished in rare “Japanese Sake Casks.” It is a true expression of craftsmanship, where the traditions of Scotland and Japan come together.Available exclusively in the Asian market.
What is a Japanese Sake Cask?
Oak casks once used to mature Chivas Regal whisky are sent from Scotland to Japan, where they are used to age premium sake “Masuizumi” from Toyama Prefecture (the sake itself is also sold under the name “Link 8”).
After aging the sake, the casks are returned to Scotland and used as “Japanese Sake Casks” to finish Chivas Regal Takumi.
Packaging:The design is inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship such as gold metalwork and maki-e lacquer art. The black and gold color scheme is accented with motifs of samurai armor and traditional patterns.
Tasting Notes:Maintaining Chivas Regal’s signature smoothness, this whisky achieves a perfect balance with delicate fruity influences—such as fresh, juicy pear—derived from the sake cask finish.
To fully appreciate the elegant aromas brought by the sake cask, simple serves such as neat, on the rocks, or a highball are recommended.
