Aberlour is a renowned Scotch whisky distillery located in the heart of Speyside, in the Scottish Highlands. Aberlour Suthainn is duty freeshop exclusive and "Suthainn" means "eternal" in Gaelic, and its name captures the essence of the solera process, where each batch of Suthainn whisky incorporates a portion of the previous batch. We age our whisky in two types of casks: American oak, which imparts vanilla and toffee notes, and Oloroso sherry casks, which impart spice and richness. Blending a portion of the whisky with a portion of the previous batch in American and Spanish oak sherry casks further enhances the richness of the sherry. We call this the "Solera Reserve." When the time comes, our artisans expertly pair the Solera Reserve with a single malt aged in classic double casks. It's an art requiring dedication and years of expertise to achieve depth and continuity of flavor.
