Aberlour 18 Year Old Double Sherry Cask Finish is matured in two types of casks: American oak casks that impart vanilla and toffee nuances, and Oloroso sherry casks that add spice and richness. Whisky aged for over 18 years is then specially selected and fully finished in two types of sherry casks: Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry. Throughout the maturation process, the whisky delicately absorbs the complex flavors of the casks, creating intricate layers and refined depth. When the time comes to mature, the artisans perform the final maturation of the single malt extracted from both casks in first-fill Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. This adds even more intense and spicy sherry cask aromas to the whisky.
