This sake is aged for eight years in the "snow chamber," a low-temperature storage facility that takes advantage of the power of nature in Uonuma, one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan, and stores up to 1,000 tons of snow.
By aging the sake for a long period of time at a low temperature of around 3 degrees Celsius, a high quality aged sake with a smooth and elegant flavor is produced while retaining a light and refreshing taste.
The package design was inspired by the kanji character for "eight," which is common to both the eight-year aging period and Hakkaisan.
Symbolizing the eight-year Hakkaisan, the "eight" is represented as eight, katakara, and "hahahahahaha..." expresses an auspicious laugh.
