100% Pinot Noir The vineyard of Clos de Vougeot was founded by the monks of the abbey of Cîteaux and dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. Clos Vougeot is a large vineyard (50 hectares - 125 acres) located bewteen Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny and he is the most glorious and famous of all Burgundy vineyards. The Soil is very diverse and a true mosaic, a mix of clay and limestone in various proportions. Manual harvesting with grape sorting before the vinification. Traditional winemaking and maturation in oak barrels for 18 months, including 20% of new barrels. Deep dark ruby red with purple hints. The aromas are intense and evoke raspberry and wild cherry. Rich and full-rounded, this wine shows a great balance, with supple tannins and a nice, long finish.
